This Code applies to all electrical work and electrical equipment operating or intended to operate at all voltages in electrical installations for buildings, structures, and premises, including factory-built relocatable and non-relocatable structures, and self-propelled marine vessels stationary for periods exceeding five months and connected to a shore supply of electricity continuously or from time to time, with the following exceptions:
a) installations or equipment employed by an electric, communication, or community antenna distribution system utility in the exercise of its function as a utility, as recognized by the regulatory authority having jurisdiction, and located outdoors or in buildings or sections of buildings used for that purpose;

1.1 This Standard provides criteria for the structural design and appraisal of structures or structural elements made from wood or wood products, including graded lumber, glued-laminated timber, unsanded plywood, oriented strandboard (OSB), composite building components, shearwalls and diaphragms, timber piling, pole-type construction, prefabricated wood I-joists, structural composite lumber products, preserved wood foundations, and their structural connections. This Standard employs the limit states design method.
1.2 In CSA Standards, “shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; “should” is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; “may” is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the standard.
Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material.
Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements.
Annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.

Standard 140 specifies a standard method of test for evaluating the technical capabilities and applicability of software used in calculating the thermal performance of buildings and their HVAC systems. These test procedures can be used to identify and diagnose predictive differences from whole-building energy simulation software that may be caused by algorithmic differences, modeling limitations, faulty coding, inadequate documentation, or input errors.
The current set of tests focuses on building thermal envelope and fabric loads and HVAC equipment performance and includes
1. comparative tests, in which a program’s results may be compared to a different version of itself or to the results of other programs, and
2. analytical verification tests, in which a program’s results may be compared to analytical, quasi-analytical, or verified numerical model solutions.
This procedure tests software over a broad range of parametric interactions and for a number of different output types, thus minimizing the concealment of algorithmic differences by compensating errors. Different building energy simulation programs, representing different degrees of modeling complexity, can be tested. However, some of the tests may be incompatible with some building energy simulation programs.
The revised 2017 edition of Standard 140 includes all the test cases of Standard 140-2014 and adds a set of analytical verification test cases for evaluating air-side HVAC equipment models.

This is a Reference Specification that the Architect/Engineer can apply to any construction repair and rehabilitation project involving structural concrete by citing it in the Project Specifications. Mandatory requirements and Optional requirements checklists are provided to assist the Architect/Engineer in supplementing the provisions of this Specification, as required or needed, by designating or specifying individual project requirements.
The first section covers general construction requirements for all repair Work. The second section covers shoring and bracing of the structure or member to be repaired, and addresses sequencing of repair Work as the structure is unloaded and reloaded. The third section covers concrete removal and preparation of the concrete substrate for repair, and defines common equipment and methods.
The next five sections cover materials and proportioning of concrete; proprietary cementitious and polymer repair materials; reinforcement; production, placing, finishing, and curing of repair materials; formwork performance criteria and construction; treatment of joints; embedded items; repair of surface defects; mockups; and finishing of formed and unformed surfaces. Provisions governing testing, evaluation, and acceptance of repair materials as well as acceptance of the repair Work are included. Sections 9 and 10 incorporate by reference two other specifications—ACI 503.7 and ACI 506.2—into this ACI Standard to cover crack repair by epoxy injection and shotcrete, respectively.

Specific numerical guidelines are given as applicable to mixture component proportions that lead to the most efficient concrete pumping results. Comments are also included in this guide on how pumping affects the supplied concrete and how the proportions affect the concrete?s pumpability. This guide complements ACI 304.2R and is also intended as a supplement to ACI 211.1 and ACI 211.2.
The mass of an object is defined as the amount of matter that is present. Mass is independent of any other property; weight is the force arising from specific gravitational field or other acceleration acting on a mass. The weight is thus dependent on both the mass and the acceleration due to gravity rotation. In the common engineering system, a pound of mass is accelerated by gravity to be 1 lb of force. There is no need for distinction, and mass and weight are often used interchangeably in that the numerical values are the same. A mass of 1 lb exerts a weight of 1 lb. There is a hidden gravitational constant. In the SI system, mass is expressed in grams and weight in Newtons. A mass of 1 kg exerts a weight of 9.81 N. It is correct, therefore, to use the term “mass” when determining how much material is being loaded into the plant, and when the mixtures are designed and proportioned. The industry, however, conventionally uses weight for these items. In the common measurement system, this creates no confusion. Thus, the vernacular term for the massing elements of the concrete plant is the weigh hopper. The batch record showing masses of materials in the concrete mixture are collectively referred to as batch weights. In an acknowledgement of this widespread industry practice, and to make the document as widely useable as possible, the term “weight” is used throughout to represent mass in the text. This is technically incorrect but is in line with common practice. In all conversions, both mass and weight are given (kilograms and Newtons).
