The Seventh Edition of this Standard has been developed by the Vacuum Technology Section of the Heat Exchange Institute, Inc. This edition includes corrections to the previous Standard, alsong with updated information gleaned from upgrades of other referenced Codes and Standards. Some additional information has been provided to help users better understand the operational characteristics of the equipment.

This addendum to the 7th edition of the Heat Exchange Institute Standards for Steam Jet Vacuum Systems provides new material for the following sections of the Standard: Figure 1A – Typical Steam Jet Ejector Stage Assembly, Figure 1B – Typical Fabricated Steam Jet Ejector, Table 2 – Tube Material Properties, Table 3 – Note 2, Section 5.4.2.2, Figure 21 – Absolute Viscosity of Air, Appendix B – Mechanical Characteristics of Tubing, Appendix D – ASME List of Material Specifications, Appendix L – Condensers Material Stress Values, Appendix M – Tube Material Stress Values, Appendix N – HEI Steam Jet Vacuum Systems Troubleshooting Guide. (This addendum should be used along with the 7th edition of the Standards for Steam Jet Vacuum Systems.)
