پروفسور نِیل آلیسون کمپبل (Neil Allison Campbell) دانشمند زیستشناس آمریکایی بود.
او بیشتر به واسطهٔ کتاب درسیاش، زیستشناسی (Biology) شناخته شدهاست.
این کتاب نخستین بار در سال ۱۹۸۷ منتشر شد و اکنون به چاپ دهم رسیده است.
کتاب مذکور در سطح جهانی مشهور است و بیش از نیم میلیون دانشآموز در سطح دبیرستان و پیشدانشگاهی از آن استفاده کردهاند.
کمپبل بیش از ۳۰ سال در دانشگاههای کرنل، کالیفرنیا (ریورساید) و کالجهای سن برناردینو والی و پومونا تدریس کرد.
وی چند جایزه هم دریافت کرد؛
کمپبل همچنین دربارهٔ گیاهان صحرایی و ساحلی تحقیق کرد.
او پژوهش دربارهٔ اینکه چگونه گیاهان خاصی در محیطهایی با شوری، دما و پیاچ مختلف سازگار میشوند، و نیز مطالعات دربارهٔ گیاه میموسا و دیگر حبوبات را هدایت میکرد.
کمپبل در ۲۱ اکتبر ۲۰۰۴، درست پس از آن که نسخهٔ دستنویس هفتمین ویرایش کتاب زیستشناسی تکمیل شد، به علت نارسایی قلبی درگذشت.
پس از مرگ دکتر کمپبل، از طرف خانوادهاش درخواست میشود تا به جای اهدای تاج گل،
هزینهاش را برای کمک به بودجهٔ تحقیقاتی دانشجویانش، به حساب داشگاه کالیفرنیا واریز کنند.
دانشگاه ریورساید برای گرامیداشت یاد او جایزهٔ موقوفهٔ پژوهشی نیل آلیسون کمپبل را ایجاد کرد.
همچنین در سال ۲۰۱۱ گروه مؤلفین کتاب Biology، به پاس سالها خدمات ارزشمند نیل کمپبل در زمینهٔ آموزش زیستشناسی، از ویرایش نهم، عنوان کتاب را به Campbell Biology تغییر داده است.

پروفسور نِیل آلیسون کمپبل (Neil Allison Campbell) دانشمند زیستشناس آمریکایی بود.
او بیشتر به واسطهٔ کتاب درسیاش، زیستشناسی (Biology) شناخته شدهاست.
این کتاب نخستین بار در سال ۱۹۸۷ منتشر شد و اکنون به چاپ دهم رسیده است.
کتاب مذکور در سطح جهانی مشهور است و بیش از نیم میلیون دانشآموز در سطح دبیرستان و پیشدانشگاهی از آن استفاده کردهاند.
کمپبل بیش از ۳۰ سال در دانشگاههای کرنل، کالیفرنیا (ریورساید) و کالجهای سن برناردینو والی و پومونا تدریس کرد.
وی چند جایزه هم دریافت کرد؛
کمپبل همچنین دربارهٔ گیاهان صحرایی و ساحلی تحقیق کرد.
او پژوهش دربارهٔ اینکه چگونه گیاهان خاصی در محیطهایی با شوری، دما و پیاچ مختلف سازگار میشوند، و نیز مطالعات دربارهٔ گیاه میموسا و دیگر حبوبات را هدایت میکرد.
کمپبل در ۲۱ اکتبر ۲۰۰۴، درست پس از آن که نسخهٔ دستنویس هفتمین ویرایش کتاب زیستشناسی تکمیل شد، به علت نارسایی قلبی درگذشت.
پس از مرگ دکتر کمپبل، از طرف خانوادهاش درخواست میشود تا به جای اهدای تاج گل،
هزینهاش را برای کمک به بودجهٔ تحقیقاتی دانشجویانش، به حساب داشگاه کالیفرنیا واریز کنند.
دانشگاه ریورساید برای گرامیداشت یاد او جایزهٔ موقوفهٔ پژوهشی نیل آلیسون کمپبل را ایجاد کرد.
همچنین در سال ۲۰۱۱ گروه مؤلفین کتاب Biology، به پاس سالها خدمات ارزشمند نیل کمپبل در زمینهٔ آموزش زیستشناسی، از ویرایش نهم، عنوان کتاب را به Campbell Biology تغییر داده است.
