101 راه حل متمرکز برای کمک به افسردگی

A step-by-step guide to conducting successful solution-focused therapy for common depression problems. This book aims to help therapists working with clients who struggle with depression by offering them solution-focused (SF) viewpoints and skills. The book invites all professionals to change their focus from what is wrong to what is right with their clients, and from what isn’t working to what is working in their lives. The book contains 101 solution-focused questions (and more) for help with depression, with a focus on the clients’ preferred future and the pathways to get there. As Insoo Kim Berg put it in her foreword for Fredrike Bannink’s highly successful 1001 Solution-Focused Questions:

Handbook for Solution-Focused Interviewing, “SFBT is based on the respectful assumption that clients have the inner resources to construct highly individualized and uniquely effective solutions to their problems.” From the more than 2,000 questions she has collected over the years, Bannink has selected the 101 most relevant for each subject. Much of the material in the 3-volume set is unique and did not appear in the earlier work, inviting therapists to open themselves to a new light on interviewing clients.

Bringing together leading scholars, scientists, and clinicians, this compelling volume explores how therapists can cultivate wisdom and compassion in themselves and their clients. Chapters describe how combining insights from ancient contemplative practices and modern research can enhance the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, suicidal behavior, couple conflict, and parenting stress. Seamlessly edited, the book features numerous practical exercises and rich clinical examples. It examines whether wisdom and compassion can be measured objectively, what they look like in the therapy relationship, their role in therapeutic change, and how to integrate them into treatment planning and goal setting. The book includes a foreword by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Amazon

نکته دیگر در مورد خرید کتاب از آمازون در فرمت چاپی این است که شما علاوه بر قیمت کتاب بایستی هزینه بالایی برای پست این کتاب ها به داخل ایران بدهید.

The Definitive, Fully Updated Guide to Solving Real-World Chemical Reaction Engineering Problems

Elements of chemical reaction engineering 5th edition pdf download

For decades, H. Scott Fogler’s Elements of Chemical Reaction Engineering has been the world’s dominant text for courses in chemical reaction engineering. Now, Fogler has created a new, completely updated fifth edition of his internationally respected book. The result is a refined book that contains new examples and problems, as well as an updated companion Web site. More than ever, Fogler has successfully integrated text, visuals, and computer simulations to help both undergraduate and graduate students master all of the field’s fundamentals. As always, he links theory to practice through many relevant examples, ranging from standard isothermal and non-isothermal reactor design to applications, such as solar energy, blood clotting, and drug delivery, and computer chip manufacturing.

To promote the transfer of key skills to real-life settings, Fogler presents the following three styles of problems:

Straightforward problems that reinforce the principles of chemical reaction engineering
Living Example Problems (LEPs) that allow students to rapidly explore the issues and look for optimal solutions
Open-ended problems that encourage students to practice creative problem-solving skills
    About the Web Site

The companion Web site offers extensive enrichment opportunities and additional content, including

Publisher’s SummaryDuring the twentieth century, many artists and writers turned to abstract mathematical ideas to help them realize their aesthetic ambitions. Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, and, perhaps most famously, Piet Mondrian used principles of mathematics in their work. Was it mere coincidence, or were these artists simply following their instincts, which in turn were ruled by mathematical underpinnings, such as optimal solutions for filling a space? If math exists within visual art, can it be found within literary pursuits? In short, just what is the relationship between mathematics and the creative arts? In this provocative, original exploration of mathematical ideas in art and literature, Robert Tubbs argues that the links are much stronger than previously imagined and exceed both coincidence and commonality of purpose. Not only does he argue that mathematical ideas guided the aesthetic visions of many twentieth-century artists and writers, Tubbs further asserts that artists and writers used math in their creative processes even though they seemed to have no affinity for mathematical thinking. In the end, Tubbs makes the case that art can be better appreciated when the math that inspired it is better understood. An insightful tour of the great masters of the last century and an argument that challenges long-held paradigms, Mathematics in Twentieth-Century Literature and Art will appeal to mathematicians, humanists, and artists, as well as instructors teaching the connections among math, literature, and art.

Mathematics in Twentieth-Century Literature and Art: Content, Form, Meaning نظرات درباره کتاب

Robert Tubbs is an associate professor of mathematics at the University of Colorado–Boulder and author of What Is a Number? Mathematical Concepts and Their Origins, also published by Johns Hopkins.
“A refreshing and unusual contribution that should appeal to a larger audience than mathematicians alone, including historians and art theorists. Tubbs’s focus on artists whose mathematical intentions are made clear by the artists themselves is original.”

    — Janice Sklensky, Wheaton College

“For those viewing mathematics and the creative arts as distinctly separate endeavors, Tubbs provides an insightful treatise that proves otherwise… Though the content of Tubbs’s book is challenging, it is also accessible and should interest many on both sides of the perceived divide between mathematics and the arts.”

“A fascinating journey through the works of modern art and literature… This book can be seen as a guide to understanding the various movements that emerged within artistic circles in the 20th century. Tubbs does an excellent job of leading the reader through this world of ideas, gently guiding the non-mathematicians through the panorama of advanced mathematics, and mathematicians and those who are artistically naive to an appreciate of the world of modern art and literature… The book serves as a compass to guide the reader to a better understanding of modern art.”
    — Jay Kapraff – LMS Newsletter

“A beautiful narration… Every chapter is well balanced between the mathematical side and the art side.”
    — Riccardo Moschetti – Zentralblatt Math

“Books like Mathematics in Twentieth-Century Literature and Art help us get rid of prejudices, and indeed open our eyes to see.”
    — Capi Corrales-Rodrigáñez – Mathematical Reviews

“Tubbs’s exposition proves so clear and thorough that the mathematical novice reading Mathematics in Twentieth-Century Literature and Art receives an introductory course in the fundamentals of higher mathematics… Reluctant mathematicians will be delighted to discover that Tubbs’s mathematical explanations afford new analyses of canonical artworks.”

12/5/2017 The Occupational Therapist: Enabling Activities and Participation Using Assistive Technology… Several scientific projects granted by the Institute are in progress at the Centre to verify not only the advantages of a systematic application of the Matching Person and Technology tools in the assessment process, but also the application of the assis- tive technology assessment process model. Since the 1980s, Scherer has realized the importance of including personal factors in the selec- tion process for an assistive technology. The United Nation’s requests were focused on the devel- opment of a global initiative to realize the obligations of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities toward increasing access to assistive technology. The tools included in the MPT are in a duplicate format, one for the technology user and another for the provider of the technology (counselor, therapist, teacher, employer, or trainer).

Biomedical Engineering/General Biomedical Engineering Swine in the Laboratory: Surgery, Anesthesia, Imaging, and Experimental Techniques – Third Edition   10/27/2015 Over the years, I have kept a file of questions and communications concerning the use of swine as animal models that arose from readers of that publication. My primary interest in publishing this textbook is to decrease the learning curve associated with using swine as models. The formula used for calculating ME for growth in BW is ME = 2.52 × BW 0.63 for swine (Bollen et al., 2000). No consensus exists on the best type of caging to use for swine in a laboratory setting. The photoperiod for swine is not as critical as for other species, and they may be provided with up to 16 h of light in the laboratory setting (Committees to Revise the Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Research and Teaching, 2010).

Biomedical Engineering/Bioimaging and biomedical optics Lasers and Energy Devices for the Skin   5/21/2013 The reader should note well that if tissue response looks unusual, most likely there is a problem and the physician should do a laser “walk around” before proceeding (akin to the pilot who dutifully checks the exterior of his plane before tak- ing off). Most lasers in modern skin surgery are pulsed, and the “instrument” panel fields are given in terms of pulse duration and fluence. In fact, in many pulsed laser applications, particularly the pulse dye laser, the “macropulse” comprises several smaller pulses (Fig. 1.13) (22). It follows that even lasers with relatively poor Hb absorption, such as the ruby laser, have been used for PWS treatment. It may therefore be that all of the laser pulses being used now are too long.

Biomedical Engineering/Bioimaging and biomedical optics Monte Carlo Techniques in Radiation Therapy   3/25/2013 Preface    Monte Carlo simulation techniques made a slow entry in the field of radiotherapy in the late 1970s.Since then they have gained enormous popularity, judging by the number of papers published and PhDs obtained on the topic.Calculation power has always been an issue, so initially only simple problems could be addressed. They led to insights, though, that could not have been obtained by any other method.
Biomedical Engineering/Biomaterials Biomaterial and Bioengineering   3/20/2013 In this context, while traditional engineering applies physical and mathematical sciences to analyze, design and manufacture inanimate tools, structures and processes, biological engineering uses primarily the rapidly developing body of knowledge known as molecular biology to study and advance applications of living organisms. For CSP/PLLA/DMF blend solution with chitosan powder in the thermodynamic stable state, when the solution film surface contacted with the coagulant, the phase separation took place slowly, resulting in forming two phases of the polymer-rich phase and polymer-poor phase. Above results suggested that blending CSP and PLLA solution had no effect on the aggregation structures of CS and PLLA in the CSP/PLLA blend scaffold. There are many methods [1-3] used for the layer-substrate adhesion determination. The results for TiO2 have lower value which is in correspondence with assumption.

2/15/2013 What many healthcare professionals do not realize is that healthcare information technology, or HIT, usage in healthcare settings has been one of the few long-standing issues that has been supported by presidents of both political parties because of its pivotal role in improving healthcare quality, cost, effectiveness, and efficiency. Impact of Healthcare Information on Quality of Patient Care and Health Services takes an integrated approach, looking at different types of organizations, such as non- profit hospitals, for-profit hospitals, community health centers, and government hospitals, and, by doing so, provides a comparative perspective of how different organizations (specific to the United States) tend to adapt and use technology differently. These chapters will cover quality of care and cost impacts on the patient from HIT, changes for patients of varying socioeconomic statuses (including Medicare and Medicaid populations), physician perceptions of HIT and medical malpractice lawsuits from use of HIT, bioterrorism and use of EMRs, and finally a discussion about mobile health and how a new growing mobile health genera- tion will change the face of healthcare as we know it. When did the first health information technology first spring up?*,†,‡,§ While the concept of informatics for health research was established globally after the end of World War II, the U.S. began using the first digital computers for health research on dental care for the National Bureau of Standards and the United States Air Force. Next, let’s discuss some of the theories that apply to technology penetration, adoption, and use in healthcare organizations, some of which are scattered throughout the book as well.

Biomedical Engineering/Bioimaging and biomedical optics Husband and Reznek’s Imaging in Oncology Volume 2  خرید ایبوک از آمازون 12/23/2009 If no clinical syndrome is evident, the tumor is either classified by the hormone secreted (usually PPoma) or, if no hormone is secreted, it is called a non-functioning pancreatic NET. Once the diagnosis of a gastrinoma has been confirmed, localiza- tion with imaging should be undertaken to identify the primary site and to stage the disease. Detection of the primary tumor is directly related to tumor size, with no tumors identified <1 cm, 30% of tumors detected between 1 and 3 cm, and 95% of tumors >3 cm in diameter demonstrated (4,7,73). However, there is a significant decrease in the five-year survival rate to 47% in patients with extensive liver metastases (more than five) (102). Generally, therapy radionuclides are beta-emitting, attached to the same molecular probe, so that only those patients who have been demonstrated by imaging to have tumors which show significant and specific uptake of the radiopharmaceutical are exposed to radionuclide therapy.

Biomedical Engineering/General Biomedical Engineering Nuclear Medicine Therapy   3/30/2007 Preface Therapy in nuclear medicine practice has a long distinguished history. To use today’s phraseology, it is one of modern medicine’s early “targeted therapies.”By its very nature, nuclear medicine therapy is required to be highly specific and targeted, since it always involves administration of unsealed sources of radioactivity.Since the development of peaceful uses of atomic energy after the second World War, patients with specific disease processes were among the earliest who benefited by these new uses.
Biomedical Engineering/General Biomedical Engineering Ultrasonic Diagnostics in Medicine: Physical Foundations   3/26/2007 Indeed, we can get two images of a single actually existing formation (in what follows, we say “obstacle”): one image appears as a result of single reflection of the sound wave from the indicated obstacle and the other is formed as a result of double reflection of the wave from the same obstacle. Then we analyze the process of interaction of the obstacle with the incident wave, the waves formed as a result of this interaction, the direction of their prop- agation, and their interaction with other obstacles, e.g., with the surface of the body, etc. This term combines several simpler phenomena, including the radiation of sound in the analyzed system, scattering of sound by inhomogeneities, and its absorption. It is easy to see that the difference between relations (1.1.4), (1.1.5), and (1.1.6) can be described as follows: in the first formula, the displacement is a function of a single variable, namely, of t. This means that, in the first case, we describe the behavior of a single particle and, in the second case, show the positions of all particles at a given point of time.

Biomedical Engineering/General Biomedical Engineering Identity-Preserved Systems: A Reference Handbook   5/23/2002 PREFACE The idea for an identity-preserved (IP) handbook originated in the U.S. commodity grain trade. The first need was seen as an effort by grain and oilseed traders to protect their own place in world trade. The U.S. position and ability in world grain trade was being questioned.U.S. grain and oilseed trading industries saw the need to take a new initiative to protect their market share in world trade.
Biomedical Engineering/Bioimaging and biomedical optics New Techniques in Thoracic Imaging   11/27/2001 Preface This book is the first of a series of volumes designed to provide a focused update on new and emerging techniques in radiology.New Techniques in Thoracic Imaging is primarily intended for practicing radiologists, but will also prove useful to pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and physicians training in these specialties. The primary goals of this book are three-fold.
Biomedical Engineering/Bioimaging and biomedical optics Medical Image Registration   6/27/2001 Image registration has also become one of the more successful 3 areas of image processing, with fully automated algorithms available in a number of applications. This array provides the coordinate system of the image, and an element in the image can be accessed by its two-dimen- sional position within this array. The process of image registration involves finding transformations that relate spatial information conveyed in one image to those in another or in physical space. Many of these voxel similarity measures involve analyzing level sets, or isointensity sets, within the images. This transforma- tion can subsequently be used to transform any arbitrary point from one image to the other.
Biomedical Engineering/Bioimaging and biomedical optics Kinematic MRI of the Joints: Functional Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Clinical Applications   3/28/2001 Preface “Kinematics” is the branch of mechanics dealing with the study of motion. While traditional kinematic analyses (i.e., motion analysis systems that utilize external markers) form the cornerstone to the biomechanical assessment of joint function, interpretation of such data is limited with respect to identifying the internal factors contributing to abnormal joint motion (pathokinematics) and dysfunction.
Biomedical Engineering/General Biomedical Engineering Bone Mechanics Handbook – Second Edition   3/15/2001 Preface The progress in bone mechanics in the last decade has been extraordinary.CRC Press published my previous edited book on this subject in 1989.It was entitled Bone Mechanics and it was a snapshot of the subject in the summer of 1988.The present book is a snapshot of the subject sometime in early 2000.The difference between these volumes reflects the extraordinary progress made in that decade between the publication of the two volumes.

Biomedical Engineering/General Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Testing of Bone and the Bone-Implant Interface   11/29/1999 Preface Biomechanics is an integral part of the study of bone as an organ or tissue.Mechanical testing of bone specimens is a basic method in bone-related research. The mechanical properties of whole bones or bone tissues and bone–implant interfaces are equally important as their morphological or structural aspects. The former is evaluated by mechanical testing and the latter is mostly studied using histological techniques.
Biomedical Engineering/Biomaterials Biology of the Prokaryotes   1999 Molecular biology has developed largely through studies with bacteria. the cell are in general higher than outside; thus. water has a constant tendency to enter the cell. Consequently. without a cell wall, the cell would burst. To maintain an optimal function, these processes have to be tightly regulated by the cell. This. for example. includes adaptation to different environmental condi- tions such as the presence (or lack) of nutrients in widely varying concentrations or the necessity of choosing between carbon sources of different metabolic quality. Furthermore. the activity of transport systems has to be adapted to the demand for maintaining homeostatic conditions between solutes such as K+. Na+. H+. and C..2… in the cell. to name a few. The oxidized nitrogen sources are reduced to NH) inside the cell, and NH) i! the form that is assimilated. The oxidized sulfur sources are reduced to H2S inside the cell. and H2S is the form that is assimilated.
