اين كتاب كه جز درس هاي تخصصي رشته روان شناسي است ، براي تمام كساني كه علاقه مند به روانشناسي اكادميك و علمي هستن مفيد هست. تقريبا در 15 فصل كتاب نحوه ي شكل گير ي شخصيت انسان ، ، انگيزه هاي او ، عوامل موثر در رشد رواني و ماهيت انسان توضيح داده شده است . تا زماني كه ما نظريه هاي شخصيت را بلد نباشيم با هر گونه اظهار نظري كه راجع به روان ادمي ميكنيم به بيراهه رفته ايم. نثر كتاب روان است و مطالب را مختصر ولي بسيار مفيد بيان كرده است
